BECOMING A BOARD MEMBER

Becoming a member of a nonprofit board is a decision not to be made lightly. Individuals should consider such things as commitment to the mission, knowledge of fiscal responsibility, personal protection while serving, and the skills and abilities of the staff. Assessment of the situation before signing on as a Board member is important for potential members.
