Katrina: Manager of Volunteers Relief Resources Volunteer Bank ~
Volunteer Managers offering Respite to Organizations

Volunteertoday.com, in response to Katrina, hopes to coordinate a "respite service" between current managers of volunteer service programs and organizations with volunteer programs.

We want to serve as a conduit, gathering information from qualified volunteer services professionals to share with existing programs so that programs may choose a professional to provide short periods of commitment, giving relief, renewal and rejuvenation to current managers of volunteer services areas affected by Katrina.

Volunteertoday.com is building the infrastructure for this communication process. Information collected on Volunteertoday.com, from professionals like you, will be shared with organizations that may wish to enlist your services.

In this time of great need in the USA, we appreciate your willingness to assist. It is our hope that organizations will choose to involve you in service.

Guidelines:
  • Volunteer services professionals should have at least one year of experience as a paid manager in an established department of volunteer services.
  • It is desirable that volunteer services professionals have training or experience in disaster relief.
  • Volunteer services professionals must be in good heath as conditions may be hazardous.
  • Schedules must be flexible as volunteer services professionals may have short notice to prepare for travel.
  • Volunteer services professionals must be able to commit to a week of service.
  • Financially, volunteer services professionals, must be prepared to pay their own expenses, as reimbursement funds may not be available.

VolunteerToday does not guarantee placement with organizations and is not responsible for actual matches. It is up to organizations to select those they would like to come and help out. VolunteerToday is merely an information conduit.

VolunteerToday accepts no responsibility for verifying the qualifications of the person volunteering for a respite placing – that verification is entirely the responsibility of the requesting organization.

To proceed, click the link below to a Manger of Volunteers Respite Corps Information Form. If appropriate, this information will be shared with those organizations seeking someone to serve as a Manager of Volunteers Respite Corps to assist in their organization.
