GEMS TOOLBOX OF VOLUNTEER ADMINISTRATION

GEMS Toolbox was developed by experienced 4-H staff to aid the field in organizing volunteer programs. GEMS  (Generate  Educate  Mobilize and Sustain) are the primary components of this volunteer administration model.  Under each letter there are elements that are explored to accomplish the goal of the letter.  Included are forms, questions, instruction, and examples.

Do not let the 4-H language put you off.  The model and the forms can be easily adapted to most nonprofit volunteer programs.  The good thing about this model is the amount of testing by your colleagues in volunteer administration.  You can be assured it works.
