Pearltrees is a visual and collaborative online tool that allows users to collect, organize and share any Web address URL.  The application features a unique visual interface that allows users to drag and organize collected URLs into units called pearls.  The pearls can be further organized in a hierarchical structure with.  Pearltrees, is the company's nomenclature for customizable folders that contain pearls (URLs).   For an example of a pearltree visit this site on volunteer management. Be patient....it takes time to download.

Imagine creating a pearl tree for your favorite volunteer management resource sites—Volunteer Today, Energize, Inc., Hands-On Network, local volunteer center, your organizational web site.  Think of it as a specialized bookmark making for an efficient connection to all those sites you use in your work.

A local volunteer manager association could take on the creation of a pearltree and post it on their Web site.  What a service to new managers of volunteers in the area!

In 2003, Grassroots.org began offering its first service: free web hosting, to qualified 501c-3 nonprofit organizations throughout the United States.  Currently 5700 nonprofits are members of this organization.

Services include such things as consulting on issues related to technology, graphic design, web hosting and design.  It is also a place to find technology experts who are seeking volunteer assignments.
