TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST POWERPOINT SLIDES

Never Mix Backgrounds

Use the same background color or template in designing a presentation.  It makes you look a professional

One Picture Per Slide

PowerPoint is a visual medium. This means lots of pictures and graphics and FEW words.  But, one picture or graphic per PowerPoint slide.  Several online sources for free pictures. http://tinyurl.com/9xcz77k

Big Font Size

Use large font size so the 75-year-old retiree can see what is on the screen.  28 to 32 points

5 Lines or Less

Make text slides with bullets.
Use phrases rather than entire sentence
Never more than 5 lines of text per slide.

Never Read to Volunteers
