SOCIAL MEDIA FOR THE SMALL NONPROFIT

Social media is no longer an optional activity for the vibrant volunteer program. Be it a daily Tweet to volunteers or full blown FaceBook page it requires attention. If your volunteer program is small this penetrating report on social media will help build the case to get help.

For example, the authors of the report suggest a small nonprofit should consider spending 10-34 hours per week on social media.  To keep up with Twitter or FaceBook accounts a nonprofit needs 25-50% of a full time employee.  These facts and more are suggestions to help a small nonprofit maximum their use of social media.  It is a 10-page report released by the Bridgespan Foundation.
