Tiny URL

Nancy Macduff, editor and writer (and publisher) of Volunteer Today has a Twitter page.  It is a tip-a-day site for those who work with volunteers.  She loves finding Web sites to help administrators of volunteer programs. Frequently she links people to other sites with looooooonnnnnng addresses.  Yes, just about that confusing.  But Twitter only allows 140 characters.  Not much space to explain why a visit is warranted to the reader.

Rides to the rescue a new site called Tiny URL.  You paste in one of those nasty long URL addresses and “Tiny” makes an email of less than 26 characters, and in Twitter 26 characters is a big deal.  If you forward online sites, put them in news briefs, or send a recipe to a friend, “Tiny” can make life much easier.  There is no charge. http://tiny.cc/
