They are volunteers, too!
Look here for information and the latest techniques to develop your board or committee. The purpose is to help those who work or serve on nonprofit boards of directors or committees.

~June 2011~

Meetings are the food and drink of any organization.  In business, research tells us that supervisors and managers spend 50% of their time in meetings in a workweek.  Of that 50% one-half is wasted time (based on interviews from attendees).  It is likely that this is true for nonprofit organizations, as well.video camera

I set out to write an article on meetings - - how to make them helpful.  In my search for an innovative way to approach this topic I stumbled on a collection of funny horrible meetings short videos (Thanks to YouTube!)  The first three videos take a humorous look at horrible meetings.  One made me laugh aloud.  Take a break and have a laugh.

The last video comes from England and is a clever look at how to hold helpful meetings.  It might be worth sharing internally and certainly if you are training volunteer committee chairs.  Yes, they should be trained.
