They are volunteers, too!
Meetings are the food and drink of any organization. In business, research tells us that supervisors and managers spend 50% of their time in meetings in a workweek. Of that 50% one-half is wasted time (based on interviews from attendees). It is likely that this is true for nonprofit organizations, as well.
I set out to write an article on meetings - - how to make them helpful. In my search for an innovative way to approach this topic I stumbled on a collection of funny horrible meetings short videos (Thanks to YouTube!) The first three videos take a humorous look at horrible meetings. One made me laugh aloud. Take a break and have a laugh.
The last video comes from England and is a clever look at how to hold helpful meetings. It might be worth sharing internally and certainly if you are training volunteer committee chairs. Yes, they should be trained.
