VOLUNTEER RECRUITING AND SCREENING IN A FAITH COMMUNITY
Churches, like their nonprofit brothers and sisters, are having as much trouble as those in the nonprofit world recruiting volunteers for teaching the young, leading adult education programs, serving shut-ins, and the list goes on. The Episcopal Diocese of Niagara, ON Canada has a helpful series of pages devoted to the challenges of recruiting and screening volunteers in the faith setting. There are documents and suggestions on recruiting, selecting the right person for the right job, and creating an annual calendar of activities. This proactive approach to finding people to serve is attractive, accurate, useful, and skillfully packaged. You can find ideas on recognition and some ideas for working with vulnerable populations. http://www.niagara.anglican.ca/screening.cfm
