- National
Director, Project Concern International: 30,000 volunteers leading
fund-raising & educational events, raising $17 million in pledges.
Developed walkathon concept.
- Faculty,
University of Colorado, Boulder, Volunteer Management Training course.
- Training
up to 10,000 volunteer managers a year since 1979.
- With
partner Steve McCurley, and Directors of the Arkansas Division of
Volunteerism and Public Policy Dept., Univ. of Arkansas, Little
Rock, developed structure, processes, training and materials for
prototype for AmeriCorps: the Delta Service Corps. Three-year effort
included recruiting, site development and training of Corps members
in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
- Development
of Lay Ministry program for Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Darien,
Illinois.
- Working
with many groups as consultant and material developer including
Junior League of America, American Red Cross, Aid Association for
Lutherans, State of Minnesota (People to People Program), West Virginia
Council of Churches/ Dept. of Elder Affairs, Association of Volunteer
Administration, Points of Light Foundation, Dept. of Defense, and
Arthritis Foundation..
