As we think about the New Year and our resolutions, we need to think of our role as a board member and what we can do better. Consider the following and check those that are ways you can improve your service to your organization:

	I will make every effort to attend all board meetings.
	I will read my board packet before board meetings.
	I will pencil in questions on the board packet so that I can research them in advance and/or bring them up at the meeting.
	I will suggest names of potential board members to the nominating committee.
	I will make an appropriate financial contribution to the organization.
	I will ascertain that we have a conflict of interest policy.
	I will make certain we have an audit committee.
	I will make sure we evaluate the outcomes of our programs regularly.
	Others?
