Arrow Image Volunteer Management Certificate Training Arrow Image

Training for managers of volunteers, leading to a certificate, is being held April 26-29, 2005. The course is sponsored by Washington State University and is based on its award winning online certificate program for managers of volunteer programs. Topics include recruiting, training, management and supervision, evaluation, and recognition of volunteers. The face-to-face course is being held in Port Hadlock, Washington, in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains and across the Straits of Juan de Fuca from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Arrow Image International Conference on Volunteer Administration Arrow Image

The Association for Volunteer Administration hosts its international conference, "Journey of Discovery," on volunteer administration, October 20- 23, 2004 in Portland, Oregon. There are speakers from across the globe designed to stimulate thinking, pre-conference sessions for those managing volunteers in government, faith based organizations, the Red Cross, and many more. CEO's of nonprofits with huge salaries, embezzlement of funds by bookkeepers in charities, and money spent on big buildings, not service to clients. All these sad headlines make running nonprofit and volunteer programs harder. What do you know about people’s view of morality? How is it that people define morality? Here is a snapshot from a recent article in American Demographics (June 2004).
