Training for managers of volunteers, leading to a certificate, is being held April 26-29, 2005. The course is sponsored by Washington State University and is based on its award winning online certificate program for managers of volunteer programs. Topics include recruiting, training, management and supervision, evaluation, and recognition of volunteers. The face-to-face course is being held in Port Hadlock, Washington, in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains and across the Straits of Juan de Fuca from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The Association for Volunteer Administration hosts its international conference, "Journey of Discovery," on volunteer administration, October 20- 23, 2004 in Portland, Oregon.
