Tracking Your Online Business
Volunteer Today Web Master, Lori, found a terrific free offer for getting statistics on those visits to your Web Site. Open Tracker is a commercial site to track Web traffic for subscribers. The organization has a special offer for nonprofit organizations to provide statistics for free for six months.
In addition, this site is seeking organizations to "sponsor." They list the sponsored sites on the Open Tracker Web site. They are currently working to create a system where a portion of the subscription fee from their clients will go to selected charities. They express a special interest in environmental organizations, but encourage any nonprofit and charitable organization to apply and make inquiries. Seems like a good deal! Managers of Local Government Volunteer Programs Professional Association
Cities and counties are growing volunteer programs across Canada and the United States. Such programs already exist in places like Israel and the United Kingdom. Now there is a professional association for the paid staff who manage these programs. The National Association of Volunteer Programs and Local Government.
The purpose of the organization is to strengthen volunteer programs through leadership, education, advocacy, networking, and information exchange. The organization sponsors training sessions for members and non-members at the annual International Conference on Volunteer Administration. It has a quarterly newsletter, and Web page, with a members-only section. The Web page is a "work in progress" but you can see early results at: http://www.navplg.org. Individual membership dues is $20.00 per year. For information on how you can join, contact one of the three people listed below.
